Deputy Principal, Teaching and Learning

We are excited that the recent lock down and fourth iteration of Remote Learning has come to an end. The uncertainty that Victorians have faced in the last week, has reminded us that we must be prepared for every possibility, and it is with that in mind that we have reviewed our approach to the Emerge (Year 10-12) Curriculum Information Presentation this year.

We are pleased to announce that the Emerge Curriculum Information Presentation will be launched online. Parents and guardians will have the opportunity to view the presentation in the comfort of their home, pose questions and select subjects for their learning program in 2022. Early in Term 3, each student will be supported by their Mentor, Subject Teachers, the Careers Practitioner and Head of VCE to review their subject choices and this will culminate in an interview with the Deputy Principal Teaching and Learning. Please refer to the key dates below:

Mid-Year Examinations

The final two week of the term will be important for our Senior Students as they settle back into face-to-face teaching and begin their Mid-Year Examinations. We have updated our Examination Timetable and I have included a copy here for parents and guardians.

We urge our students to maintain the high standards they began with this academic year. Progress and growth will look different for each young person. Please support your son and daughter as they revise and study for their exams. Encourage them to eat well, exercise and get regular refreshing sleep. Being rested and focused for exam revision might involve scheduled time away from personal devices, invitations to join the family for dinner or an evening walk. Our words to our children matter – I trust you will partner with us and encourage your child to do their best, to persevere and to celebrate the wins each day, however big or small.
