From the Principal

Hello CESC family!

Here we are half way through the year already and what a year it has been!

This term has definitely been a busy one, with Parent Teacher Interviews, NAPLAN, report writing and assessments and of course a few weeks of lockdown, thrown into the mix!

I’d like to acknowledge the adaptability of the entire CESC community that was exhibited when we were presented with remote learning again. Although we didn’t expect it, students, families and staff embraced the rapid change and we were very proud in particular of our students who did not let this challenge stand in their way of their learning opportunities.

Throughout Term 2, we have commenced our forward planning for 2022 course selection and subject selections. Such planning creates a busy time for leaders in particular with preparation for staff and students when considering their selections for the following year. Please ensure you are familiar with the communication going out to families regarding course selection, with a particular focus on Thursday 15th July.

As you will also be aware, we are happy to announce the appointment of a new Principal here at Cranbourne East SC. At the start of Term 3, we will welcome Meagan Cook to the College and we look forward to working with Meagan and getting to know her.

This also means that my time as Acting Principal has come to an end. I’d like to thank Russell Lee for the tireless work he has completed in the role of Acting Assistant Principal in Year 7/8. I will be returning to this role at the start of Term 3.

We also say farewell to Tim Bray who returns to his school next term, as Penni Roe has returned from leave this term. Tim has been outstanding in the role of Acting Assistant Principal 9/10 this semester. We wish both Russell and Tim all the best for their future endeavours and thank them for all they have done for the CESC community.

So as the mid-year holidays commence, please take the time to rest and look after yourselves. We have a big semester two ahead and I’m sure this will go quickly.

Thanks for all of your support during my time as Acting Principal and I look forward to communicating with the community in my role as Year 7/8 Assistant Principal next term.

Stay Safe, and have a wonderful break,

Linda Buckeridge
