Covid-19 Update

                                                                       Day 2/06/2021

Lockdown Extended

Friday Midnight 4/06/2021 till Thursday Midnight 10/06/2021

Dear Families & Carers,

Firstly, I would like to express my thanks to the many families who have kept their children away from school during the latest Covid-19 Lockdown. We all appreciate how devastating this is to us all, but we will get through this if everybody supports each other.

The purpose of this newsletter is to highlight some changes around authorised providers and workers,  and the expectations for families when completing the supervision form.

We have modified the form for in-school supervision in line with DET directions. The new form includes a question asking if both parents/guardians are authorised workers. If one of the parents is not an authorised worker then you will not be able to proceed to request supervision.

Please read the information carefully before submitting a supervision form.

  • Children where both parents and/or carers are authorised workers who cannot work from home, work for an essential provider and where no other supervision arrangements can be made:
    • Where there are two parents/carers,both must be authorised workers, working outside the home in order for their children to be eligible for on-site provision
    • For single parents/ carers, the authorised worker must be working outside the home in order for their children to be eligible for on-site provision.
  • Children experiencing vulnerability, including:
    • children in out-of-home care
    • children deemed vulnerable by a government agency, funded family or family violence service, and is assessed as requiring education and care outside the family home
    • children identified by a school or early childhood service as vulnerable, including via referral from a government agency, or funded family or family violence service, homeless or youth justice service or mental health or other health service.

New Supervision Form

The old supervision form has been pulled down and is no longer available as of 1.00pm Wednesday 2/06/2021. The new supervision form will be available after 5.00pm today Wednesday 2/06/2021.

The new form for the period Friday 4/06/2021 till Thursday 10/06/2021 must be submitted no later than 5.00 pm Thursday 3/06/2021. We will not accept and supervise students if the form has not been completed and submitted by the due date.

Please be reminded, if we feel there is inadequate information we may require further details to support your request.

Term Two Activities

  • At this stage we have cancelled assemblies for the next two weeks.
  • The 2/3 Excursion maybe cancelled. But we will make that decision early next week.

Ally 2/3 teacher

Ally has taken over from Cass as the classroom teacher for the remainder of this term. We are currently looking options for term three and inform parents before the end of term two.

Reminders

All parents must be comply with all relevant social distancing regulations and at all times wear a mask.

If you or your family you believe you may have visited a location declared as a covid site - get tested and inform the school.

Parents are requested not to gather in groups outside the school grounds. We are still under Covid lockdown conditions.

We cannot have parents inside the school buildings for any reason during school hours.

If you believe you will be late at drop off please contact the office by mobile when you arrive at school.

We must insist that you cannot be late to collect your child at the end of the day.

If there are any changes to these arrangements as deemed by DHHS & DET we will certainly communicate and implement changes as possible.

The newsletter in its current form will be suspended until further notice. If and when we need to communicate further information around Covid we will publish newsletters similar to this newsletter.

Please stay safe and look after each other.
