National Simultaneous Storytime

Yesterday was the annual National Simultaneous Storytime activity. This event includes hundreds of schools across Australia and Asia that stop at the same time to share a brilliant picture book to highlight the importance and joy of reading. This year it was "Give Me Some Space" by Philip Bunting. Every class at St Edward's stopped at 10.45am to hear the story read by an actual astronaut from space!  It was very entertaining and it was great to see the book and the astronaut floating up there in the space station. I even heard some students didn't believe they were actually reading from space! The book is available for teachers to borrow and follow up with in class.

Book Fair Order Update

Some books are starting to arrive at school, so hopefully all the back orders will be received before too long.  Thank you again for your patience if your child has had to wait a little.

Thank you for returned overdue books!

More overdue books are starting to trickle in from our students. Thanks to everyone who has located some books at home and sent them in.

All St Edward's library books have a sticker barcode that says St Edward's School (it may be on the back, front or inside cover) so if you are not sure if it is a school book, have a look for that clue.

In a couple of weeks there will be overdue notices sent home with students to remind them to look for overdue books. We would appreciate as many books as possible to be returned before then. After a period of a few weeks we will be asking for the replacement cost of the books.

See you in the Library!
