Learning and Teaching

This term continues to fly by. All of our classes are completing their units of inquiry for this term and planning in teams has commenced for Term Three. Our new focus will be Science - with a particular emphasis on the Physical and Earth and Space strands of the curriculum, Design and Technology and Critical and Creative Thinking. We will also be exploring our school value innovation 'You are the light of the world.'

Science Week will  be celebrated and the national theme for 2021 is 'Food: Different by design.' There will be a whole school celebration of learning in week six  and more information will follow. Mathematics and Engineering will also be emphasised.

Our staff will engage in Mathematics professional learning in the middle of the term. The key focus will be on the use of the proficiencies - understanding, fluency, problem solving and reasoning. Rob Vingerhoest, a Mathematics consultant, will lead us in this space.

Other events occurring in Term three include Book Week - 'Old Worlds. New Worlds - Other Worlds,' the Olympics in Tokyo and NAIDOC Week. Each team will promote learning in these areas with their students in different ways.
