NEST News

NEST Club

Recycling and Waste Management has been a major focus for NEST recently. We have noticed that students are unable to correctly identify which bin their rubbish goes into. To clear this up, we have made a guide that clarifies what goes into each bin.

Recycling Bin:

  • Paper
  • Cardboard

REDCycle Bin:

  • Soft, scrunchable plastics (when squeezed can not revert back to its original shape)
  • For example, clingwrap, muesli bar wrappers, yoghurt pouches, Ziploc bags
  • NOT FOOD SCRAPS such as fruit peels or half-eaten sandwiches

General Waste Bin:

  • Generally anything that doesn't go into the Recycling Bin or the REDCycle Bin
  • Fruit scraps
  • Soft drink cans
  • Pens and other writing utensils
  • Tissue paper
  • Ceramics and glass
  • HARD Plastics (like a takeaway container or a plastic fork)

Battery Recycle Station - Science Domain Kitchen:

  • Any used batteries can be disposed of here

Thank you to everyone who has done their best to dispose of their rubbish in the correct way. We request everyone follow these guidelines for their rubbish disposal in the future.
