Term 2 Mandarin Learning

We are continuing our journey of learning Mandarin in term 2 at Trinity. 

Junior level

The students at the junior level review the knowledge of numbers and expand their vocabulary to familiar topics, such as family and friends. We made some mother’s day cards in Chinese to express our love and appreciation for our mums with some simple Chinese phrases.

Middle level

Students from 3/4 classes continue to learn some basic food and drink vocabulary for our unit. By recognizing the Chinese characters and writing simple sentences, students learn to use the correct verb and sentence structure to describe their daily meals and preference in food and drinks. They are also learning the cultural aspects in terms of Chinese cuisine and customs around food.

Senior Level

In the unit of countries and nationalities, the senior students learn to describe people and languages from different countries. We learned about different country names and how those names are formed. Students use simple sentences to describe where the countries are located and express where they would like to visit in the future.
