Principal's News

Mr Rodrigues

Dear Families,

As we draw closer to the end of our first semester it is astonoshing to see the amount of learning that has taken place so far this year. Nowhere is this more noticable than in our Prep classes seeing the incredible progress children have made since the start of the year. This is particularly evident in their reading and writing as well as their maths. Of course, as you are well aware, these areas are a major focus for teachers, particularly in the early years so it is pleasing to see all the hard work paying off.

For those of you who may have been able to attend last Friday's assembly you would have heard from our 1/2 TB class as they shared their deep learning in the area of sustainability and our environment. I was so impressed by their level of understanding and the knowledge they have gained in what can seem to be quite complex concepts. A big congratulations to Ms Barressi and Ms Rivas for guiding their students through this inquiry.

Once again I would like to congratulate all those who assisted in the planning and excution of our fundraising effort on Election Day. Over $2000 was raised just in cash sales and over $2500 in card sales. Thank you Jenny for your generous donation of all profits made from the sale of your lovely beanies, which added to our overall efforts. Of course some expenses will be taken out of the money raised but all in all we should be left with over $4000 which means  it was a very successful team effort and I am sure provides the motivation to begin planning for other community and fund raising efforts.

A Prayer for Reconciliation

Lord God, bring us together as one, reconciled with you and reconciled with each other. You made us in your likeness, you gave us your Son, Jesus Christ. He has given us forgiveness from sin. Lord God, bring us together as one, different in culture, but given new life in Jesus Christ, together as your body, your Church, your people.Lord God, bring us together as one, reconciled, healed, forgiven, sharing you with others as you have called us to do.In Jesus Christ, let us be together as one.

Amen.    (Bishop Arthur Malcolm)

Congratulations - Oscar Year 6

We are extremely proud of all our senior students who took part in the Victoria Street Alive Street Poster workshop which was organized by Ms Maryanne earlier this term.

In fact one of our students, Oscar C in Year 6 had his work chosen for display in multiple locations in the city of Yarra. If you are passing any of these spots lookout for his thoughtful poster on how we can all look after our mental wellbeing. How creative! Great work Oscar.

2023 Enrolments: Spread the word!

Word of Mouth

It has been great these past few weeks to be showing prospective new 2023 families around our school. More often than not they have chosen to look at Trinity because of a recommendation they have had from other people who have had a good experience or heard good things themselves about our school. Word of mouth is the best form of marketing we can adopt and we appreciate all the great things our parents say to family and friends.

Protective Behaviours: Feeling Safe Program Years P - 6    Term 3     Week 1

As part of our comittment to child safety at Trinity we have engaged the services of Ms Cath McCallig who is a trained educator and facilitator of both, Sex Education classes and Protective Behaviours for children in schools.

The Protective Behaviours program involves two one hour intensive sessions conducted over two days. The sessions are held during school time with the classroom  teacher in attendance.  Feeling Safe is aimed at giving students the skills, strategies and  confidence to help prevent abuse and keep themselves as safe as possible.  Consent, respectful relationships and bodily autonomy are key in these sessions.  Protective Behaviours Australia guidelines and activities are used to ensure children  are given current and age appropriate information. Feeling Safe sessions encourage  student participation and are designed to give strategies that promote a child’s  empowerment. The sessions are inline with the Child Safe Standards for Schools.
