Fete 2022

We are excited that we have now locked in a fete for this year and confirmed the date (Saturday, November 19th).

It is the time of year when we ask our community if there is anyone willing to help out with planning the fete. This event has been held at SKiPPS, every second year commencing in 2014. They have raised significant funds for the school, the last one raising $46k. These funds have been used for projects such as upgrades to the quadrangle and resurfacing of the basketball court. 

In addition to fundraising, the fete engages the broader community and most importantly is a lot of fun for our students and community. 

To put on such an event, we ultimately need the involvement of all the SKiPPS community, but at the heart of it we need an organising committee to coordinate and drive the planning and activity. 

This date does however mean we are under pressure to get going.

You don’t need to know what to do or have done it before. We are looking for a team of people with enthusiasm and a collaborative spirit. The fete committee would generally meet and decide the format the fete will take and then divide the activity between them leading a component each based on passion, willingness, skill. 

At the moment we are lucky enough to have a few parents put up their hands to kick things off, but we really need another 4 or 5 to join the group and take on a role each . No one would be ‘left alone’ as there would be lots of guidance if needed from the parents of committees past and support from School council. 

Our fabulous staff are always supportive and hope we can get a fete team up and running but it is important that SKIPPS families drive the event so that the staff don’t carry an extra load – we really just need them there to dunk!! 

The Fete brings our school community together like no other event the children love it (and so do we). If you think you are interested please come along to the Fete Committee meeting at the Bowls Club at 6pm on Thursday 2nd June.
