SUCCESS STORY

SUPERB SILVER LINING!

Brooklyn Riwaka (Year 8) and Jesus Camacho (Year 8) competed in one of two Victorian representative teams who qualified for the Australian Junior League Baseball Championships. The games were held in Adelaide over a week, and, with many challenging matches, the team secured a Semi-Final spot. Brooklyn, Jesus and their team won and progressed to the Championship Game (Gold Medal game).

They fell short in the last few innings but admirably won the Silver Medal, gaining the status of the second-best Junior League team in the country.

We are so proud of both young men and wish them continued success!

JEWELS IN THE JUDO CROWN!

Yonatan Ayzelman (Year 9) has been participating in Judo for the last 10 years. On the Queen’s Birthday weekend, he and a fellow McKinnon Secondary College student participated in the National Judo Championships. Yonatan gloriously took home the Gold, while Abigail Mayer, (Year 10), superbly won Silver.

Congratulations to both students; we are very proud!

HUGO IS ON THE NEXT WAVE!

Hugo Tran (Year 11), boldly entered his short film in the Next Wave Youth Festival and was selected as a finalist.

The theme offered was “Pineapple” and films needed to be no longer than four minutes. Hugo’s masterpiece was a horror/comedy about a killer pineapple haunting a young boy and was titled ANANAS (French for pineapple).

Attending the event in Coffs Harbour at the beginning of May, Hugo was fortunate to meet some famous individuals in the film industry.
