Sped Corner

Geoff Mulgan is director of the Young Foundation, a center for social innovation, social enterprise and public policy with a 50-year history of creating new organizations and pioneering ideas in fields as varied as aging, education, healthcare and poverty reduction. In this Ted Talk, George talks about a new kind of school in the UK where small teams of kids learn by working on projects that are real and practical in everyday life.  He also talks about how kids learn differently, some by listening, some by doing, and other by working in teams and talking.  Although we are not able to create a small team of students and have such a program, it is still very eye opening to realize how the lowest performing students scored the highest scores on the standardized assessment because they were able to learn through their own leaning styles because of the opportunities they were given.  Please watch this clip and email me with your thoughts J
