Sport and PE Report

ICT use in PE

During the Information Evening towards the start of the year, the question was asked 'how do we use iPads in PE?' This always an interesting topic of discussion, as this answer will vary greatly from school to school. My philosophy is that the iPads are only to be used to enhance the learning in PE, will the aim for most sessions is to be active and develop skills. Here at BPPS, our students have the opportunity to use the following apps:

- Foundation - no iPad use by the students

- Year 1/2s - Seesaw and Video Apps - used to record students so they can visually see how they perform a Fundamental Movement Skill (e.g. throwing, kicking, catching)

- Year 3 - 6s - Popplet (mind mapping of PE topic), Showbie (for sharing learning), Video Apps (for recording and analysing skill level) and Google Forms (to assess students' knowledge of a task).

House Cross Country

A reminder that we have the House Cross Country next week on Wednesday 3rd April from 12.30pm at Koonung Creek Reserve (Kosciusko Rd). All families have received information about the afternoon via email. If you are able to assist with the set up at the track in the morning (from 7.45am), please send me an email at batt.cameron.d@edumail.vic.gov.au. We would certainly appreciate the assistance. Looking forward to a fantastic afternoon!
