Ride2School Day

Ride2School Day

Last Friday was Ride2School Day and what a wonderful day it was!

It was great to see 274 students ride their scooters, bikes, skateboards and even rollerblades!

Thank you to everyone who supported the morning. I know many of you (including parents, carers and grandparents) helped your child pedal and push up and down the hills! And possibly you carried bikes and scooters in your cars as you drove half way to school. THANK YOU – it made the morning and I loved seeing so many smiles.

A big thank you to the following families who helped make the morning run so smoothly - serving smoothies and placing bikes away in the hall. And to those families who helped at the end of the day, thank you for making it easy for students to get their bikes back out of the hall.

THANK YOU to the Bell family (2SR, 5BG), Campbell family (34T), Clarke family (4SC), Frost family (1CM, 5DS), Lee family (12L, 5BG), Malihi family (3JT, 5CS), Overy family (4BM), Pezzano family (1ET, 4AP, 4SC) and the Dahdoule family (5DS). I apologise if I have missed anyone.

In addition to the support from families it was great to have the support of the Boroondara Council with Verity and Lucy from the Sustainable Transport Team who provided us with the Smoothie Bike; and the support of staff from the Bicycle Network who were  there to hand out stickers and join in the celebrations.

Thank you to everyone for dusting off your bikes, scooters, skateboards and rollerblades and getting the 274 riders ready for Ride2School Day!
