The Swinburne Science Experience – Hawthorn

 

 

Wednesday 7 July 8:30 am - Friday 9 July 4:00 pm

 

If you’re in Year 9 or 10 and you know that the science of today is the technology of tomorrow, then you’ll want to come to campus to learn and explore STEM through interactive, hands-on workshops and demonstrations.

 

You’ll meet leaders from the scientific community, work with innovative technologies in our specialised labs and facilities, watch out-of-this-world science demonstrations and participate in hands-on workshops that will challenge and excite.

  • Get a taste of Melbourne through lectures and interactive workshop sessions that will challenge you to think critically

Electrical Technician Virtual Work Experience

 

Join our new Electrical Technician work experience and discover how technicians keep our railway tracks safe and running. Learn to investigate faults in communication systems and conduct necessary repairs; while keeping yourself and others safe in tricky electrical scenarios. Over the next four weeks, you’ll engage with practical problem solving and gain industry knowledge of electrical equipment, maintenance, and safety. You’ll also have the opportunity to gain exclusive feedback from mentors and leading industry experts at Inland Rail on your final project.

  • Are curious about machines and how electrical mechanisms work
  • Enjoy fixing and tinkering with things
  • Want to work in the field, not at a desk
  • Are looking to build practical industry skills
  • Would like an industry mentor and career guidance
