School Council

Karen Jansen - School Council President

On Monday night your school council got together online for our July meeting. It’s always wonderful to hear about the hard work and activities going on around the school!

We were excited to hear that the Phase 1 plan for our government funded building works has been approved and that Kylie has already been in meetings for the start of Phase 2, looking at which company will design our master plan…things are really moving along!

In other news around the school…

We are still looking for Prep enrolments for next year. School council members have volunteered to help spread the word by taking flyers and posters to their local Kinders, but we could really use your help as well! If you know any families with Kinder age children please tell them what you love about Weeden Heights and recommend they give Kylie a call.

We have a Working Bee coming up on Sunday 8th August. It would be great to see lots of families helping out, having an outdoor catch up and enjoying  some morning tea.

Our Wellbeing Officer Nicole is settling in extremely well and has been very busy supporting families and planning and running programs for our community.  Please go and have a chat to Nicole anytime you need some assistance or just to say welcome and let her know how much we appreciate the important work she does.

Both our PFA and SRC have fundraising plans in the works, keep a lookout in Nokuna and on SchoolStream for details on these…

As a final thought for this month, it was once again incredible to see our teachers go above and beyond to have home learning up and running with activities for Friday and full lessons by Monday and to see our students do their very best to continue their learning with a positive attitude…we can all do this!

Take care of yourselves and stay safe everyone.
