Debating

On Tuesday 25 February, the Kilbreda Interschool Debating Team had their first round against Haileybury College.  The A Grade team, consisting of Year 11 and 12 students, argued in the affirmative ‘That we regret the rise of streaming platforms’, and though they lost by two points, it was an interesting and relevant topic for the students to consider.

The D Grade team, consisting of Year 8 and 9 students, also argued in the affirmative, ‘That we should limit the number of cars that each household can own.’  Coming away with both a victory and a best speaker award (Yuhan Huang) was a wonderful achievement for this newly formed team, who worked hard to consider all sides of the issue.

All students in the Kilbreda Debating Team are to be commended for their dedication and team work.  They were organised, collaborative and able to support each other throughout the process.

The next debate takes place on Tuesday 28 April.  All students and their families are welcome to attend.
