Year 10 Music

Year 10 Music students experienced what it was like to record a group music piece in a recording studio at the College.  The students worked together on a piece of music and in the recording studio, sections were recorded separately, listened to, reflected on and improved.  Each section was multi-tracked to create a final product.

Students were able to reflect on the differences between recorded and live sound.  All parts were then mixed to create what is an amazing ensemble recording. Some reflections from the students included:

It was interesting to see how all the parts were recorded separately and then mixed together to create the final product

In a recording studio, every sound can be heard and this is a helpful strategy in improving and perfecting your part.  It was good to be able to redo a section if there was a mistake.

During this task we discovered and understood the differences between a live and recorded performance.

Team work is important in group performances and it was great to encourage and support each other throughout this process

It was fun having a new experience in music and watching how this recorded performance all came together.

Thank you to Mr Matt Graham for contributing to this wonderful learning experience for our Music students.
