U16 GIRLS SHIELD

The girls this year were a pleasure to coach, the lockdown afflicted season made it difficult for the team to build on momentum from their wins. However, they did achieve some impressive results, with the highlight of the season beating Southern United who were, at the time, top of the ladder 4-3.  Their improvement through the season was plain to see against Powerhouse, early in the season they lost 7-2, but by what turned out to be the final round, the girls pushed them to a narrow 2-3 with Powerhouse unfortunately scoring in the last few minutes. Win or lose, girls played a brand of hockey that was exciting to watch, scoring 23 goals, and having 3 narrow 1 goal losses. Thanks to Leesa Needham for doing a wonderful job team managing, Claire Douglas for coaching direction, and to all the parents who helped ferry the girls to and from trainings, games, and the occasional trip to Drouin.

U16 MIXED SHIELD

2021 was a development year for the TEM U16s team. Light on numbers for the year, the boys knew it was going to be an uphill battle in the shield competition. To their credit they sucked it up, got on with the job and left their hearts on their sleeve after every game. As the boys started to build some momentum, drawing the last game before our good mate covid came to the party, we were gutted the season had to be cut short. Kobe and I saw some great progression throughout the season and are very proud of how far the boys have come. We would like to thank all of the parents for being the real MVPs getting the boys to and from training, games and your continual support throughout the season. Best of luck to all of the boys for their future and hope they can get back out there next year.

Cheers, Gus and Kobe.
