Welcome to Term 3

I trust that all students had a lovely break and are feeling refreshed and ready to commence Semester Two.

Report Discussion

I do hope that you had the time to sit and go through your child’s report with them. For some this would be a discussion on strengths and for some there may have been discussion on areas for improvement. Whatever the discussion was, it is important to let your child know that their education is important to you and that you are as invested as they are. Students should be reminded that this is the start of another semester and that they should continue to strive to do their best.

Year 9 Service Project

This week we celebrated the work of the Year 9 Service Project teams with a ‘Funhelen’ Day. Many other year levels were invited to come out and spend time with the Year 9 students learning about their projects and helping them support other members of the community.

Year 8 World Expo

Unfortunately, due to this recent lockdown, the Year 8 World Expo has had to be cancelled for Wednesday 21 July. The Year 8 students have been working very hard on this project and upon their return to school they will set up an exhibition in their classrooms for their peers and teachers. Staff are hoping to take film and photos so that we can share with parents in an upcoming newsletter.

Michael Grose Article

Below is a link to an article by Michael Grose. As parents and educators, we often talk about challenges and resilience building in students. Grose explains here some ways to develop skills in children so that they are able to rise to challenges, build their resilience and help relieve some anxiety.
