College Musical

It seems like a long time now since we first started planning this year’s College Musical, in fact, more than a year ago! And we cannot believe that you will soon be able to enjoy this incredibly entertaining show. The introduction of amazing sets and outstanding costumes has the cast, band and crew of almost 80 individuals full of energy and excitement.

Unfortunately, the latest restrictions have forced us to postpone the first two performances unless further restrictions are announced, the remaining three performances will go ahead as planned:

  • Thursday 29 July at 4.00pm
  • Friday 30 July at 7.30pm
  • Saturday 31 July at 2.00pm

There will be one additional performance at 7.30pm on Wednesday 28 July. Tickets are now available for all four performances at: https://www.trybooking.com/BQFMA. Tickets are $27.50 adults or $22 for concession/children. There is also a family ticket for $90 (plus booking fees) for four tickets of any type.

Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met. And if that weren't upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he's never done before -- keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday's 'normal' boyfriend and his parents. Full of wonderfully catchy songs, this production is fun for the whole family.

Those who do attend the show in person will be required to QR Code upon arrival and wear masks throughout the performance. We are also limited in the number of audience members who can congregate in the foyer, so doors will be opened at 7.00pm so audience members can take their seats as soon as they arrive.

Emerging Performers Showcase

The Emerging Performers Showcase will now be held on Thursday 5 August from 3.30pm - 4.30pm. Even though entry is free, bookings are still required. This assists with managing numbers and following necessary COVID tracing protocols. All are welcome for this show which allows many of our performers their first opportunity to share their talents with an audience. Please go to https://www.trybooking.com/BSZQW to reserve your seats.

Lip Sync Battle

Are you looking for a small project for the family to do together during this lockdown. As we did last year, we are inviting students and their families to put their creative minds together to create a Tik Tok style, Lip Sync Performance. Students can plan out and film an entertaining song and dance with their family and friends.

Guidelines are as follows:

  • Final video must be no shorter than 30 seconds and no longer than 60 seconds
  • A minimum of four people must appear in the clip, although social distancing applies
  • There must be at least one parent/adult as part of the on-screen talent
  • Please film in landscape
  • Final videos will be uploaded via email or can be delivered on USB
  • No inappropriate language or actions
  • Bonus points for choreographed movement, costumes and locations

Prizes will again be on offer. Entries will be due by Friday 20 August and performances will be streamed in a presentation hosted by this year’s Performing Arts Captains on Thursday 26 August. Winning entries will be judged by a panel of Performing Arts and other staff.

Cumberland Concert

This year’s Cumberland Concert, Don’t Stop Us Now will take place on Tuesday 14 September  and Thursday 16 September commencing at 6.30pm. Students in Years 3-6 will present their annual Performing Arts extravaganza during two performances which are always popular with families. As in the past, we must limit tickets to 6 tickets per family although you will not require a ticket for your Year 3-6 children. Tickets will go on sale on Monday 30 August by visiting https://www.trybooking.com/BTAIY.
