As Term 2 comes to a close, we want to thank all staff, students and parents for your dedication to Instrumental music tuition. Despite many interruptions, the bands are now back rehearsing and sounding fantastic. We are looking forward in hope for Term 3’s very full program of performances. 

STRING SOIREE

THE MUSIC CENTRE

Date: MONDAY JULY 19th

Time: 6:30PM - 8PM

We invite you to share an intimate night of music performances by our String students.

The String Soiree will showcase the hard work and dedication of our Music students and their progress on the Violin, Viola and Cello. This event, hosted by Ms. Imogen Willson and Ms. Monica Ha, is a great chance for parents and friends of the college community to come to hear some great music, to meet with other parents and Music Staff and most importantly, to show our support for our students. 

The event will commence at 6:30pm and should be wrapped up by around 8pm.

THE VSC CONTEMPORARY MUSIC CONCERT

TUESDAY, 20th JULY 2021

6:30 - 9:00pm

TO BE HELD IN THE VSC THEATRE

Students involved in the Contemporary Music Program are invited to perform as part of our Contemporary Music Night. 

The concert will showcase bands, ensembles, duos/trios and soloists who have been working hard throughout the semester to build a small repertoire in a non-formal, Cabaret Concert setting.

Tickets will be capped at 50 seats and will ONLY be available via the link in the Compass event page

We are requesting students wear performance attire (not school uniform)

Students should arrive at 6:00pm to warm up and be ready for the show. 

Parents are welcome to bring snacks/drinks for their table. 

Tea and coffee will be provided.

The VICTORIAN SCHOOLS MUSIC FESTIVAL

The VSMF is running again this year and we have entered our Concert band, Symphonic band and Stage band to be part of the Program. 

Students involved will catch a bus from Vermont to the Hawthorn Town Hall where they will perform for assessors, receive feedback from special guest Conductors and be part of the audience for other schools in the same category. We will then catch a bus back to Vermont for dismissal. Please be aware of the dates and times as they are outside of regular school hours.

Stage Band – Tuesday 10th August (3:30 – 6:15pm)

Symphonic Band – Wednesday 18th August (2:00 – 5:00pm)
