Community Focus Day

Vermont Secondary College

Last Thursday on the 17th, our student leadership team hosted its second Community Focus Day of the year raising money and awareness for MND (Motor Neuron Disease). This was done under the Big Freeze MND charity known for ice cold water slides and blue beanies.

Similar to Term 1’s Community Focus Day, all three houses worked together to brainstorm games food and decorations. Due to Covid restraints however, the leaders had to quickly adapt and instead held free dress for the whole school with PJ day dress up for the Year 12s and selling the Big Freeze beanies.

The school community was alive and well, raising $2700 and selling all 50 beanies! Thanks again for all the leaders for making the day possible especially under such quick changes. And thanks to all the members of Vermont Secondary who got behind it, making it another day for the yearbook.
