Principal's Update

Dear Parents and Carers,

It is hard to believe another term is at an end!

An enormous thank you to our staff and students for their hard work throughout the term.  Many thanks also to the numerous volunteers who have given their time, to support our learning programs and the wider school operations.  I would particularly like to acknowledge the Neighbourhood Centre for their provision of our canteen service and the volunteers from the Red Cross, for their ongoing assistance with delivering the Breakfast Program.  It is great to see how much students are enjoying the program, and we greatly value the connection both services provide with the wider community.

A big thank you also to Mount Beauty Foodworks and to everyone who has donated their points through the Spirit of Community program.  As a result, we have just received  $608.30 to support our school programs.

Do you have any full sets of playing cards that you no longer need?  If so, we would love them for our classrooms! If you can help, please send them in to the office.

Please note that this semester’s reports will not be sent home as a printed copy.  These will now be available on Compass for your convenience, offering quick and easy access to our child's report at all times.  If you have any issues accessing your child's report, please contact the Office.

Netball clinics recommenced this week and will continue into next term, for all students in Years 3-6. Our thanks again to Chaye from Netball Victoria, for providing our students with this valuable opportunity.

Yesterday the circus came to school!  Congratulations to Steph and the Year 5-6 students on their entertaining performances, and to all students on their excellent audience skills.  A video of the 5/6 performance has gone out to 5/6B parents.

Due to today’s wet weather conditions, the planned Year 5-6 visit to the Bonhote farm has been rescheduled for Thursday 15th July.  This is also subject to weather conditions and will be confirmed closer to the time.

A special performance from the Jazz, Intermediate and Senior bands will be held tomorrow in the undercover area at 12pm.  Parents and carers are also welcome to attend.  Please remember to check-in using the QR code on the gate and to sign-in at the office.

A reminder that as tomorrow is the last day of term, we will finish at the earlier time of 2.20pm.  Please note that this is also a casual dress day and students are encouraged to bring a gold coin to contribute to our ongoing cause to assist people experiencing homelessness.

Over the holidays, OSHC will be offering a range of activities for students attending Vacation Care.  These will include celebrating and running their own Olympic events, sewing their own costumes and participating in other craft and construction activities. Our thanks to Kath and the OSHC team for their planning and provision of this program.  If you would like to book your child into OSHC during the holidays, please complete an online booking form.

During the holidays, a number of our rooms will be refurbished with new flooring.  This will include the OSHC room and, as a result, families are advised that OSHC will be running out of the BER building during this time, so please enter via Tennis Court Avenue.

4th-11th July is NAIDOC Week.  To celebrate, there are a number of activities running in Albury-Wodonga.  The program can be viewed in the Community News section of this newsletter.
