Celebrating all that is Good with Joy and Gratitude

It is easy to become a little despondent in our current circumstances, but it is important to remember that we still have so much to be grateful for. Reflecting on our blessings helps our wellbeing and provides us with a sense of belonging.

  • We belong to a loving God who cares for us as His children
  • We are part of a caring community who look out for one another
  • We have access to technologies that help us connect
  • We have opportunities to learn and grow

Parent/Teacher Interviews

We value the opportunity to partner with families in the education of their daughters. One such opportunity to connect is through the participation in parent/teacher/student interviews. The girls are encouraged to attend and engage in conversation regarding their learning. These interviews will be held online, with details regarding booking interviews being emailed in the coming days.

Save the dates:

  • Monday 2 August 2.45pm to 8.00pm
  • Wednesday 11 August 2.45pm to 8.00pm

GAT

The General Achievement Test (GAT) is currently scheduled to take place next Thursday 29 July. At this stage the VCAA is indicating that this will still go ahead as planned. However, if there are any changes, we will notify families.

A more detailed letter regarding the GAT will be sent to families of students studying Unit 3 & 4 subjects on Friday 23 July.

VCAL Information Night

Is your daughter interested in pursuing VCAL in 2022? You’ve heard about VCAL, but aren’t sure how it is different from VCE?

Please join us online on Monday 26 July at 7.00pm to hear about the VCAL program at Kilbreda. This evening is aimed at current Year 10 students. The evening will be conducted virtually via ZOOM. LINK HERE

Academy of Enterprising Girls

Last week, a selected group of Year 8 and Year 9 students participated in an extension workshop, ‘The Academy of Enterprising Girls’. The workshop was facilitated by the ‘Young Change Agents’.

One team of students was invited to participate in the National Youth Incubator (only six teams participated nationwide). This program was held online during the second week of the school holidays and focused on the theme of resilience as part of the ‘Youth Action Project Grant Scheme’, a foundation for young Australians and Australian Government Department of Health initiative.

The group of Year 8 students were given the opportunity to further work on the idea they developed and pitched during the ‘Young Change Agents’ program that we hosted at Kilbreda, a design for an electronic bracelet designed for young women with options to send the user's location to other females in the network and the local police. We congratulate the girls on their selection and participation, and we look forward to a report in the next newsletter.
