Level 1

Welcome to Term 3! 

The last week of last term feels like it was a long time ago. Our student-led conferences were fantastic, and it was wonderful to be able to have these meetings with our Level 1 families face-to-face or online, and celebrate students’ learning achievements. The final day of term was Rangeview’s RRRR/eSmart celebration and it was a super day! 

Level 1 had a great start to Term 3. We are looking at letter blends for Spelling, and we continue to incorporate the Heggerty program into the classroom. In Maths, we have been continuing to practise place value, using MAB blocks among other strategies. We started discussing mixtures and where these can be found in everyday life as part of our Inquiry topic ‘All Mixed Up’. 

This first week turned into a bit of a rollercoaster with the onset of Remote and Flexible Learning once more. However, students took it in their stride – we are becoming rather good at this now, after all! Our first day went well, with whole-class meetings, and a number of activities, including creating a ‘recycled playground’ for the Fantastic Friday STEM Challenge.
