SunSmart

With the weather starting to warm up students are strongly encouraged to wear their school bucket hats in the yard. Peak caps and beanies are not part of school uniform and may be issued with a demerit, particularly if they are worn in class. These hats do not meet SunSmart regulations.

Sunscreen is available for PE classes and in all House offices if students would like to re-apply this for PE lessons and at break times.

Anyone that is unable to wear their school hat is encouraged to remain in shaded areas at break times.

Year 7 Information Night 2019

The Information Night for the 2019 year 7s is scheduled for Tuesday 16th October from 6:30pm – 7:30pm. All prospective year 7s and their parents are strongly encouraged to attend this evening which covers important information regarding transitioning into our school.

Year 12s

The final official day of VCE year 12 classes is October 26th. However, there will be some classes continuing to run until the exams are completed for each individual subject. We strongly encourage all year 12s to continue to attend these classes and submit as many practice exams as possible to teachers for feedback so that they can maximise their score for that subject. Good luck to all year 12s completing exams this year!

The year 12 graduation evening will be on Friday 23rd November at the Lighthouse Theatre after year 12 exams conclude.

Positive emotions enhance resilience

We are working on positive psychology this semester. Enjoyment, happy playfulness, contentment, satisfaction, warm friendship, love and affection, all enhance resilience and the ability to cope. While negative emotions, in contrast decrease them. Positive emotions can enhance the ability to cope with problems, or assist to turn a negative event into a positive learning experience which assists someone to bounce back after an unpleasant event. So don’t worry and be happy!

Parent Opinion Survey

Thank-you to all parents that participated in the parent opinion survey this year. Participants were generated randomly and we are pleased to say that our school has improved in almost all domains for the survey in 2017. We also appreciate the feedback provided in the comments section of the survey as well and we will continue to try and apply this feedback to improve all aspects of teaching and learning as we plan for 2019 and beyond.
