Huge thanks to our parents who organised and sorted our annual Scholastic Book Fair! Again we had many excited students selecting books and eager to get home and read! Without the volunteer parents who set up, pack up and sell the books we would not be able to offer this opportunity to our community.
Visiting author and illustrator Lucinda Gifford had our students eating out of her hand as she described writing books and creating the illustrations. Students were very lucky to have shared time with her.
Students did a fantastic job of dressing up as their favourite book characters for our Book Week Parade. Such an amazing range of characters and outstanding costumes. Can you guess the characters?
Many thanks to Megan Le Serve for her efforts during book week and organisation of events. We are now looking forward to the Children's Book Council of Australia awards later this year when we will find out which short listed books are chosen as the winning books. Teachers will be reading the CBCA shortlisted books to students. You can find all the books listed on the Children's Book Council of Australia website.
