In the Classrooms

This week the children have been constructing their own personal goal that they feel that they need to achieve in multiplication, writing and reading.

Maths – multiplication – developing multiplication skills, some of their work will be to learn tables, for some of the younger children this will be their counting patterns. Most of the children have set a goal to achieve in this area. Please work with them at home on these.

Literacy writing/reading – Author study on Alison Lester looking at her writing style, how she creates emotions with her writing and develop of characters.

Also in Reading, the children will be doing literacy circles (small groups). In these groups they will be working in different roles each week – summariser, vocab enricher, question writer and travel tracer while they read the new chapter. 

In Inquiry, the children have selected a personal topic of their own and developed an Inquiry question or two on that topic.

Please discuss further with your child at home,  about what they are doing in class to reinforce their learning from the day.
