Term 3 Week 1

Welcome back to everyone for Term 3.

Working Bee

A quick thank-you to everyone who turned up to work over the holidays. Lots of jobs got done and the school looks much better for the TLC.

A big thank-you to the Suffield team who spent Monday here with all their machines and moved the sandpit in closer to the school so that all the children can be more easily supervised while in the sandpit. Only needs a bit of new sand (on the way) and the children will be in heaven !!!

Warm clothes

Winter has certainly hit so make sure all children have jumpers to wear when outside as it does get cold. If children want to wear gumboots while it is wet, that is ok, but will need other shoes for inside time.

This term we have a number of events happening.

Respectful Relationship Forum – 31st July

On Wednesday the 31st July, some of our Year 6 leaders in the school are representing the King Valley Cluster presenting about Respectful Relationships at a forum of Year 5 and 6 children in Wangaratta. Our other Year 5 and 6 students will be still attending this presentation.

Student/parent/ teacher interviews – Monday 5th August

On this day the students will present to the parents, their goals in reading, writing and maths with evidence of achievements and discuss how they are working in general. A sheet will be sent home soon asking parents to book a time between 3.45 and 6.30pm on this evening.

School Open Day - Thursday 8th August - 9:00am to 11:00am. New Date

Please note, this is a new date for our School Open Day. We have had to change due to clashing with other dates. We will advertise this date next week. Please let people know about the morning if they would like to have a look at the school for their children next year, 2020.

Community BBQ- 12th August

On Monday the 12th August, the school is holding a Free BBQ 5.30 – 6.30pm to invite parents and community members into the school. During this time parents will have a chance to talk with teachers and other parents and finalise Trivia Night plans. On this night we will have a short presentation from Tammy Smith (Project Liaison Officer Respectful Relationships in our region) to explain what respectful relationships looks like in our community.

Ski Day – 16th August

We are currently planning to have our Whole school Ski day on Friday the 16th August at Falls Creek. Parents and other siblings are welcome to come along for the day if we have room on the bus. A note will go home on Monday advising of costs for this day.

Trivia Night -23rd August

Remember to put into your diaries the trivia night on the 23rd August starting at 6.00pm at the school. On previous years it has been a fantastic night. A flyer is attached so if you can please get a table, order your meals and study up hard !!!

Please offer to help if you are able to, as this our other major Fundraiser for the school for the year.

Ski Camp (week of 26th-30th August)

The Year 5 and 6 students, (maybe 4’s, still to be advised) will have the opportunity to attend the cluster Ski Camp during the week of 26th-30th August (3 days). We will need to find out very soon who is attending. The Year 4 children may get to go if there is enough room. Please call me if you have any questions about this camp. We will let you know the final cost for this camp also next week.
