Our St Finbar's Prayer

Dear God,

Guide us with your Spirit, so that St Finbar's stays a place where people feel welcomed, included and know that they belong.

Help us to be people of peace, who create true and everlasting friendships celebrating difference, honesty and trustworthiness.

Help us to be brave when we need to be, during hard times and watch over us as we make mistakes and guide us to use our strengths to create a better world.

For the greater glory of God.

St Finbar pray for us.

Year 2 Mass Sunday 10th November

Year 2 children and their families are warmly invited to their class Mass on Sunday 10th November at 5pm. Mrs Greenway and Mrs Howell, are in the process of creating this Mass in collaboration with the students. It is always a joy sharing these Masses and seeing our faith through the children's eyes.

Remembrance Monday 11th November

Remembrance Day 2019
Remembrance Day 2019

This Monday at 11:00 am, people from countries around the world pause to commemorate Remembrance Day, the anniversary of the day that the fighting ended in the First World War. Towards the conclusion of the ceremonies, after wreaths have been laid and before the sounding of the Last Post and the minute’s silence, The Ode of Remembrance is read.

This Monday, whilst remembering those that fought for our country, lets pray for PEACE, world peace!  Let's pray for all those currently experiencing displacement, persecution and conflict, that they may find and experience peace.  At 11:00am we at St Finbar's will all stop and gather in silence and then hear the Last Post.

Prep 2020 Parent Information Night

It is a very warm welcome to our Prep families for next year, on Monday 11th November at 7pm. Our evening begins in prayer which is at the heart of what we do at St Finbar's.  Please share our prayer:

A Parent’s Prayer

Loving God,

You are the giver of all we possess,

the source of all of our blessings.

We thank and praise you.

Thank you for the gift of our children.

Help us to set boundaries for them,

and yet encourage them to explore.

Give us the strength and courage to treat

each day as a fresh start.

May our children come to know you, the one true God,

and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

May your Holy Spirit help them to grow

in faith, hope, and love,

so they may know peace, truth, and goodness.

May their ears hear your voice.

May their eyes see your presence in all things.

May their lips proclaim your word.

May their hearts be your dwelling place.

May their hands do works of charity.

May their feet walk in the way of Jesus Christ,

your Son and our Lord.

Amen.
