Deputy Principals' Report

Dear Parents and Friends,

It was lovely so see everyone looking refreshed after our extended long weekend. The children had many stories from the weekend ranging from camping in the rain to going down to the beach and playing board games. Spending down time with our families is so important for the wellbeing of our children and ourselves. The following is an interesting article from Michael Grose on our parenting  behaviours that could do with some reworking, to improve the wellbeing of our children and ourselves.

CEMSIS Data

Some of you may recall being asked to complete the Catholic Education Melbourne School Improvement Survey recently.  Three groups were surveyed: Parents, Students and Staff.   Forty-one St Finbar's families responded, and last Friday we had the opportunity to explore and discuss the data in detail.  The CEMSIS data compares St Finbar's with all other schools in the Melbourne diocese.  It was heartening to see that we scored equal to or above other Melbourne schools in all seven domains. Whilst we were delighted with the results of the Parent data, there are always areas that we can improve in and this provided the opportunity for some healthy staff discussion.  The following table lists the seven domains and shows the percentage of positive responses compared to the Melbourne average.  The green cells indicate that we were higher than the Melbourne average in those domains.

Seesaw Comments

Please keep commenting on your child's Seesaw posts.  It is always lovely for the students to see that their parents have seen and commented on their latest posts.
