Emotional Management

As regulations start to roll back, we can look forward to a return to school. It has been a roller-coaster ride for us all as we have grappled with our new learning experience from home. A highlight for me has been getting to know some of you better over good phone conversations – the low point must be missing seeing our kids face-to-face.

The ups and downs of the lock-down have reminded me of the importance of emotional management. As adults, we have the benefit of experience in knowing how to regulate our emotions in tough times. Our children need our help in learning this vital life- skill.

Check out helping younger kids manage their emotions – it has some great advice for parents to help children self-regulate by looking at:

  1. Setting goals
  2. Problem solving and motivation
  3. Overcome distractions and impulses

As a parent myself, I can thoroughly recommend working with your child on these skills,

Hope to see you soon!
