St Joseph's Cup
Today I had the privilege of being one of the judges at the St Joseph’s Cup. The fourteen students from Kindergarten to Year 6 who presented their pieces of prose were truly outstanding. Public speaking has certainly improved greatly at St Mary’s since the inception of this wonderful event.
I congratulate all the students on their efforts throughout the competition and especially the finalist who performed today. Our winners and runners up were:
- Kindergarten – First – Sophie Schmude; Runner up – Ruby Doran
- Year 1 - First – Milly Stace; Runner up – Asha Gray
- Year 2 - First – Lucy Bible; Runner up – Staten Dowse
- Infants Champion – Lucy Bible
- Year 3 - First – Vern Toakley; Runner up – Mason Schaefer
- Year 4 - First – George Douglas-Menzies; Runner up – Poppy Stace

Thank you to Mrs Reinke and Mrs Stephen for all their work in organising the event.
Pilgramage to Ireland
During the school holidays Mrs Flynn and myself will be joining a group of Diocesan leaders and in some cases their partners as we make a pilgrimage to the Catholic Heartland of Ireland. The pilgrimage takes in many of the historical and religiously significant sites of Ireland. When we return next term we will share some of our experiences with you.
Mrs Flynn will be on leave for the first week of Term 4 and I will be going to Scotland from Ireland and won't be back until the middle of week 2. Mrs Reinke will be Acting Principal in my absence.
