 Year 5 Classroom News

In Literacy we are studying two texts 'Mirror' and 'The Duck and the Darklings'. We are studying the narrative text and we are completing our 'cold write' assessment for our big write focus this week. This will show us our writing progress over Term 3. We will be given the topic on the day of their Big Write. In Mathematics we are looking at a Mass unit in measurement and money and financial plans. We are finishing off our Science unit by designing a sustainable children's playground. In Geography we are investigate about how people change the natural environment in Australia and other places around the world. In religion we are learning about different aspects about creation. In Health we are continuing to learn about the different systems in our body, how the body changes and about puberty and how to deal with these changes in our bodies, so please discuss any of these topics with your child over the next couple of weeks.
