Classroom News - Year 4

Year 4 News

Another busy week! Lots of interesting things have happened and will be happening over the next few weeks.

Year 4 really enjoyed their Musica Viva experience - great sounds, great songs, great entertainment!

It was wonderful to be involved in the St Joseph's Cup competition in our classroom and all children are to be congratulated for their presentations. The performances in the finals were very inspiring. We were very proud of our two St Joseph's Cup finalists. Well done, Poppy and congratulations, George.

Children are very busy creating their own game for their Science assessment. Some very creative ideas are being developed that include magnets and their forces. Children are very enthusiastic. At the end of this task, children will present their games to their classes and we hope to play the games with their buddies before the end of the term.

Children are spending time formulating their historical recounts about the colonization of Australia, told from the point of view of an aboriginal person, convict, sailor or soldier. They are focusing on dates, the names of real places, people and facts. The children are encouraged to discuss what life was like before, during and after colonization.

Preparation is underway for our Lake Keepit excursion. A gentle reminder that the children will be responsible for their own belongings so names on items will be important. The children will be very busy while at camp and will have many exciting stories to tell when we return.

4R will be presenting at assembly on Friday and would like to welcome all supporters to share their performance. Assembly starts at 2:30.
