Biomix, located near Stanhope, is the commercial composting facility for the Shire of Campaspe.  Biomix composts all the material from our kerbside Food and Garden Waste (green bins) to the Australian Standard to produce a high quality compost. 

Biomix would like to invite our local schools to access this compost at an upcoming open day.

Vanessa, the CEO of Biomix Compost, has proposed the date of Saturday 22 February from 10am to 12pm.

Teachers and parents from our school are invited to purchase compost directly from Biomix, which is located at 980 Two Tree Road, Carag Carag – near Stanhope - https://www.biomix.com.au/.

Trailer loads purchased on the day are $40 (equal to 1m3 – trailer load, ute tray load). For each trailer load purchased (by teachers/parents from your school), $30 will be donated back to our school! In turn we will then donate those funds to Caritas for Project Compassion 2020!

I CAN Network

The I CAN Network is driving a rethink of Autism, from ‘I Can’t’ to ‘I CAN’. They mentor young people on the Autism Spectrum to live life with an ‘I CAN’ attitude. Bringing out the ‘awe’ in AWEtism through education, advocacy and providing opportunities. The organisation builds networks across schools, universities, TAFEs, communities, businesses and governments.

As the vast majority of the mentors are Autistic, schools who engage in our programs are also providing meaningful employment for Autistic people.

The mentoring programs have been designed by Autistic students and adults in collaboration with families and teachers. It offers a safe space where young people can develop self-acceptance, belonging, optimism and confidence. Sessions also focus on helping students prepare for post-school pathways.

 Our Family Information Session will be held next Tuesday 25th February. We will meet in the Restaurant and someone will be at reception to show people where to go. The details are in the Parent letter, below, and also below the Expression of Interest form.
