Student Led Conferences

Tuesday 15th August 3:45-4:45pm

Thursday 17th August 2:00-7:30pm

Student Led Conferences

Students led conferences are powerful tools in supporting students to be advocates of their own learning. They are a good way to establish and maintain collaborative relationships between parents/carers, teacher and student, regarding the student’s academic achievement, learning and wellbeing.

Once again students have been putting energy into setting goals for themselves, with the support of their teachers, specifically in the areas of Mathematics, Literacy, and Social and Emotional Learning. In a Student-Led Conference, a student meets with their family and teachers during which the student shares their learning with work samples and discusses progress with family members. This process creates an authentic purpose for good organisational and communication skills. The structure builds students’ sense of responsibility and accountability for their own learning, and it helps to hone their understanding of what it means to meet learning goals.

Student-Led Conferences will be held on:

Tuesday 15th August - 3:45pm to 4:45pm

Thursday 17th August - 2:00pm to 7:30pm

On Thursday 17th August students will finish school at 1:00pm

Each student is allocated 15 minutes to discuss the goals they have been working on during Term 2, and their goals for Term 3, and will also allow some time for you to discuss your their progress with the teacher alone, should you wish. Please note: 15 minutes are allocated per student, not per parent. If family circumstances require parents to attend separate meetings, these must be arranged in agreeance with classroom teachers as time allocated for meetings is extremely limited.
