Principal's Message

Dear parents and carers,

As promised, in my earlier communication to the parents and carers of the St Philomena's Catholic Learning Community, I am writing to inform you of an important decision that has been made in regards to the leadership of our school during my temporary absence.

As communicated previously, I have been given a unique opportunity to contribute to the broader Catholic education community through a secondment to the Catholic Schools Office. This secondment will commence on Monday 31st July, 2023, and extend until Friday, 1st September, 2023.

During my absence, I am delighted to announce that Mr. Richard Clark and Mrs. Catherine Downes will serve as Co-Principals of St Philomena's School Moree. Their combined experience, dedication, and passion for education will undoubtedly ensure the continuation of a supportive and nurturing learning environment for all our students.

I want to express my sincere appreciation to Mr Chris Smyth, Director of Schools, Ms Regina Menz, School Performance Leader and Parish Priest, Fr. Vic Ignacio MS, for their consultation and collaboration in the decision to appoint Mr. Richard Clark and Mrs. Catherine Downes as Co-Principals. Their guidance and support have been instrumental in making this transition as smooth as possible.

I have complete confidence in Mr. Clark and Mrs. Downes, knowing that they will uphold the values and principles that define our St Philomena's Learning Community. Their commitment to fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment for all students will undoubtedly shine during their time as Co-Principals.

During this period, I encourage you to extend your support and cooperation to Mr. Clark and Mrs. Downes, as we continue to work together for the betterment of our students and our school. Please be assured that I will be in regular communication with them during my secondment, and I eagerly look forward to my return to the school after this enriching experience.
