Beth Winterhalter - Music Coordinator

The Music Department has experienced an eventful and remarkable week. Our Year 12 students participated in the Yarram Eisteddfod on Wednesday evening, engaging in the fiercely contested 18 Years & Under Popular Vocal Solo Section. Among the nine skilled competitors, three of our own students stood out: Liam Egan, Sage Anderson, and Aimee LePage. Demonstrating exceptional poise and confidence, all three students delivered outstanding performances.

 

Notably, both Liam and Sage showcased their original compositions, garnering resounding praise from both judges and audience members alike. The enthusiasm was such that members of the audience inquired about the titles of their songs, expressing a desire to download them on platforms like Spotify. Furthermore, Aimee's remarkable skill in lyric storytelling garnered commendation, adding another layer of distinction to our department's achievements. This reception serves as a profound compliment and a testament to the extraordinary talent thriving within the Mary MacKillop community.

On Thursday, our Choir embarked on a memorable journey to the Yarram Eisteddfod. Amidst a formidable lineup of five highly competitive choirs hailing from various corners of Gippsland, our own students took the stage with unwavering confidence, exuding finesse, and skilfully showcasing their exceptional talents.
