TAME YOUR MESS

Organisation is a key way to reduce stress and feel calmer. Studies show that organising your life makes your life easier. “Every minute spent organising, an hour is earned.” A true quote by one Benjamin Franklin - when you are organising you are saving time. By keeping a few main living spaces tidy and maintaining your clutter, you can make your life a dream of simplicity.

There are so many techniques that are great for organising, such as colour coding. This can be an amazing way to order everything into groups that are easy to sort through and are very aesthetically pleasing and beautiful. Alphabetical order is an A-Z way of organising which is effective if you are organising books or filing papers. Another very good technique to use when organizing areas is ‘frequency of use’, where the items you use the most are the easiest to find. This technique comes in very handy when tidying up your desk/workspace or filing. Another good idea would be only having items like stationary and a few decorations on your desk and not cluttering it up.

The most important areas to organise are your bedroom, so that the area where you sleep and do other basic things is as simple as possible. Any living areas are very important to have tidy so that they feel comfortable and stress free. A major area that you need to clean and have organised is your desk. This is an important place because it is where you do a lot of your hard thinking - you want to minimise any distractions so you can work effectively in that space, and to do so you need to make sure there are limited things on your desk.

Organisation will change your life, as it did mine, having my locker clean makes it easy to get from class to class and doing so quickly. Having everything organised makes your life easier in a dramatic way, and following these steps can make everything better when working in spaces and at home.
