Mid Year Awards Ceremony
Each year staff award students’ academic awards for the best students in semester 1 subjects. Staff give out an average of 4 awards per subject, so it is reasonably prestigious to even achieve one award.
Around this time in the year we have a Mid-Year Awards afternoon where we present the certificates to students who have received 4 or more awards in Year 7 and 8 and 3 or more awards in Year 9 to 12.The difference in the number is due to different year levels completing numbers of different subjects as illustrated by the table below.
Year Level | Number of subjects |
7 | 8 |
8 | 9 |
9 | 7 |
10 | 6 |
11 | 6 |
12 | 5 |
Due to the current situation the Award Ceremony has been impossible to conduct and we have had to look for a different way to present this information to students and parents.
Below is a link to a short (less than 5 minutes) video listing all the students that have received awards in your year level. Please take some time to look at this video and see who has received an award.
This week certificates for those students that would normally received them will arrive in the mail. Students with lower numbers of awards have been listed in this newsletter and will receive a certificate at the end of the year with all semester 1 and 2 awards listed.
We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all student who received an award and urge them to continue this great work into this semester.
