A Message from the Principal

Mrs Pauline Long

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to Term 3. It was wonderful to see the happy and eager faces on the students this morning. I hope all our families had a relaxing holiday.

I ask all our families to spread the word we are taking enrolment applications for new Kinder students until the end of July. So far our numbers for 2021 are promising however, it is not too late to tell your friends and families we still have a few vacancies. So please spread the word! In term 4 we invite our new Kinder students to a free School Readiness Program each Friday. We are introducing an exciting initiative to the Readiness program with local  Speech Pathologist Bec Bates, coming to work with our new students on oral language. This will help the students to communicate confidently and make the transition to school so much easier.

With our country still facing uncertainty with the spread of COVID -19 I want to reassure parents we have increased cleaning occurring, the students are washing and sanitising their hands regularly and where possible we are social distancing. I ask our families to support us by keeping children at home if they are unwell so hopefully we can get through the winter season without too much illness. Our latest advice from the Catholic Schools’ Office is that parents are not permitted at school activities at this stage; so although we would love to be able to celebrate together we must be patient.

I encourage you to read our Focus on Learning section of the newsletter each week because if our parents and carers understand what our learning focus is your children will be well supported to show growth in their learning.

Finally, here is a prayer you might like to read as a family:

Loving God,

Fill us with compassion and concern for others, young and old,

that we may look after one another in these challenging days.

Bring healing to those who are sick with the virus and be with their families.

May those who have died rest in your eternal embrace.

Comfort their family and friends.

Strengthen and protect all medical professionals caring for the sick

and all who work in our medical facilities.

Give wisdom to leaders in healthcare and governance

that they may make the right decisions for the well-being of people.

We pray in gratitude for all those in our country who will continue to work in the days ahead in so many fields of life for the sake of us all.

Bless them and keep them safe.

Amen.

Take care and be safe

Pauline Long
