Aerobics Update

During isolation, the MGC aerobics team has undertaken online training. This has been a great way to keep in touch while maintaining fitness. During training we have been improving strength, developing skills and learning the technicalities within aerobics. At the beginning of June, Gymnastics Victoria created an online aerobics competition which MGC athletes participated in. This involved learning new routines while being online. There was a brief period in which athletes were permitted to return to campus, during this time we filmed our online entries. Although results haven’t been released, we feel all athletes performed exceptionally well, showing great improvements.

Gymnastics Victoria has also created an optional weekly challenge to test the strength of all gym sports athletes. Aerobics competitors are entering submissions alongside artistic, rhythmic, trampoline and acrobatic gymnasts. This is a great way to keep connected within the gymnastics community.

Even though the aerobics season has been put on hold, the MGC aerobics club has maintained a positive attitude and is looking forward to the rest of the season. 2020 has taught us to stay persistent, maintain gratitude and overall has made us excited to see what next year will bring.

Most importantly, a massive thanks to the aerobics athletes, Ms Cameron-Martin and all our amazing coaches for their hard work allowing for the continuation of aerobics at MGC!
