Wellbeing

Year 7 Wellbeing

On Monday June 22nd the year 7 student council organised a session of wellbeing where we would run multiple activities for our classes to complete. These activities included a locker race, pin the hand sanitizer on the hand and charades to name a few. The purpose of these activities was to celebrate the end of term as well as reflect on remote learning (and eat a few lollies). It was nice getting to spend the session doing different things and it gave us a chance to not worry about any work that was due or what was happening that day and just enjoy ourselves.

Year 10 Wellbeing

Students are currently doing course counselling virtually. This is building on the careers fast track sessions they had last term and they are looking to see what their interests and likes are. Part of this process historically has included hearing from Darren Perira live. Due to current conditions students will be hearing from him through a pre recorded session and they will have two sessions where he will present to him around “Shape your Destiny”. I highly encourage parents and students to share this experience.

Previously this year we have had Elevate Education present to Year 10 students with study skills. They have followed up to offer a parent information evening and the details can be found below:

Free Parent Wellbeing Webinar: How to Motivate Your Teen to Study

Elevate is an award-winning organisation that has been working with your child’s school to help them become more effective learners. We realise that these are uncertain times and students may be increasingly working independently at home. How effectively they revise and prepare is key to their success in the next few months.

Event Title: Elevate Education – Motivation

Please support your child as they navigate picking subjects for 2021 and let us know if you have any questions. We continue to complete wellbeing activities and check ins with students in each wellbeing session too.
