Merry Christmas to our School Community

On behalf of the team at Miners Rest Primary School, I would like to extend a Merry Christmas and Festive Season to all our supportive families.  Please stay safe and enjoy family and friends throughout the break.

I look forward to seeing you all refreshed in the New Year, and ready to learn and grow with another successful and prosperous school year from Wednesday 29 January.

2020 academic interview bookings

Today we have opened bookings for start of year student interviews at www.schoolinterviews.com.au – Event Code: 464nf

Wednesday 29 – Friday 31 January are interview days.  You will be able to make bookings soon, or up until the dates.

Please ensure you book prior to the Wednesday 29 January deadline.

Presentation Evening tonight from 6pm

I look forward to seeing you all enjoy some wonderful carols from our students and acknowledging our achievers from 2019.

It will be warm, but we will proceed with an abbreviated program to ensure an earlier finish.

2020 Connect-Ed Program

Our 2020 Connect-Ed Program will be led by Deirdre Bleicher (Literacy Learning Specialist), Sarah Bigmore (Numeracy Learning Specialist) and Ellie O’Connell (Foundation Classroom Teacher).

We currently have great numbers already enrolled and we look forward to working with all those families to support successful learning from home.

We are still able to support more enrolments, so please consider contacting the school (5334 6328) to enrol, details below.

Session times: Wednesday’s from 9:30-11:00am OR 5:30-7:00pm

Location: Room 2 Foundation

Modules: Begin date Wednesday 5 February (You can elect one or all modules, it’s up to you!)

  1. Speaking & Listening (Weeks 2 & 3)
  2. Reading (Weeks 4 & 5)
  3. Writing (Weeks 6 & 7)
  4. Maths (Weeks 8 & 9)

FREE childcare provided during both sessions (toddlers / babies can be catered for)

Nibbles provided.

Farewell & Welcome

It is always sad to say farewell, but it is inevitable that each year we will see changes to our staffing.  We wish all our departing staff nothing but the best in their new roles at various locations, as per below:

  • Kirsty – family leave since term 3, and has now moved to Adelaide
  • Audra – Room 5 is moving back to Sebastopol PS for 2020
  • Louie – Wellbeing & Daily Organiser is moving to an Acting Principal role at Amphitheatre PS; and
  • Rick A – Physical Education & School Improvement is moving to Mt Rowan SC

We welcome the following staff to our team:

  • Tess Kelly – Leading Teacher, Curriculum

We have two staff to wed during the holiday period.
