A big congratulations to Bryce and Annie McDowell on the birth of their third child Cecilia. We trust she will be a blessing to your family.
Congratulations
We would like to extend our congratulations to Talia Ruighaver (in Year 8) who was recognised as "Young Citizen of the Year" at the Knox City Council Australia Day Celebration. Talia was nominated by a local business in recognition of her achievements, leadership and community spirit. This is a huge achievement. Well done!
New Students
This week we have had over 110 new students and 29 Kinder kids start here at BHCS. A special welcome to you as you make new friends and settle into your new classes.
Congratulations Year 12s of 2016
As a new Year 12 class looks at their final year of Secondary school, it is good to report on the students that have just finished up.
Congratulations to our Dux of 2016 Nathan Goodwin who is looking forward to studying Law and Arts at ACU.
While a few of our students have gone straight from school into the world of work, most have chosen to continue with their education at TAFE or University including 6 students studying in the field of Law.
This year, four students were also successful in securing traineeships or apprenticeships and still others are taking time on a GAP year to spread their wings.
We wish all of our 2016 Year 12 students the best on the next leg of their journey.

Walking School Bus
Last term the School informed parents of the possibility of a walking school bus, suggested by the PFA, to ease the congestion of the School drop off and pick up zones.
Initially, the walking school bus will be run on a trial basis only. If you are interested in joining the group and walking your children to and from school please take note of the below details:
- The walking school bus will be run every Thursday, beginning today.
- Park in the public parking area of Convention Ave, Belgrave Heights. Outside Belgrave Heights Convention Centre.
- Before School - meet at 8:15am to leave by 8:20am
- After School - meet at 3:25pm to leave by 3:30pm. Meet in Junior School courtyard behind the School buses.
Preps in 2018
If you have a child who is expected to start Prep in 2018 and have not yet put in an application, please contact Jodie Davis (Registrar) as soon as possible. Interviews for Prep places next year, will take place later this term, parents will be advised of interview dates closer to the time.
2016 Yearbook
We've had some requests from families who would like to purchase extra copies of the 2016 Yearbook.
These will be available, with limited stock, from Reception for $5.00. First in best dressed. Payment can be made by Cash or EFTPOS.
Immunisations
All students in Years 7 will receive information in coming weeks regarding upcoming Yarra Valley Council immunisations.
The immunisation dates are as follows:
- Friday, 10th March, 2017
- Friday, 16th June, 2017
- Friday, 20th October, 2017
Parents are reminded that immunisations are voluntary and we encourage you to seek the advice or ask questions of your GP before having your Year 7 child immunised.
