Acting Head of Junior School

During Science Week the Junior School students were involved in Hands on Science. The students participated in a range of challenging and enjoyable science activities that encouraged them to think like scientists. They observed, recorded, reported and made conclusions from their observations and experiment results.

The Prep students explored the life cycles of plants and animals. They set up mini greenhouses to explore growth and change over time.

Year 1s studied and classified specimens, and made mini worm farms.

The Year 2s learned how water is used and moved by people and nature. They studied the unique properties of water and its importance to life on Earth.

In Year 3, the students explored relationships between the Earth, moon and sun. They used models to investigate changes caused by the movement of the Earth and moon, including seasons and eclipses.

The Year 4 students explored the natural processes of weathering and erosion, as well as drought and human impacts that change the landscape.

The Year 5s investigated the properties of light, including source, colour, reflection and refraction.
