On Wednesday, 15th August, a team of 52 students ranging from Year 3 -6, participated at the annual Bentleigh District Athletics Carnival. The event was held at the local Duncan MacKinnon Athletics Track. 

All students who competed are to be commended on their participation and efforts, as this was a student free day for the Junior School. 

 

Students were limited to two individual events and a relay. Team selections were based on results from the recent Year 3-6 House Athletics Carnival, and athletics trials completed during Sport and PE classes.

Students from Oakleigh Grammar competed in the full Track & Field program, which including - 80m Hurdles, 100m, 200m, 800m, 1500m, Shot Put, Discus, Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump and the 4 x 100m Relay.

1st Place:

Lexi Bergmeier (Year 4): 9-10 Girls Discus - 16.10m (500g) & Shot Put - 7.06m (2kg).

Chris Papakatsikas (Year 6): 12 Boys Long Jump - 3.65m

Jovan Milenkovic (Year 6): 12 Boys 800m

Raj Singh (Year 6): 12 Boys 80m Hurdles

 

4th Place:

Yianni Romanidis (Year 5): 9-10 Boys Discus

 

Stephanie Kakaras (Year 5): 11 Girls 100m A

 

Good luck to the following students who have qualified for the next level up School Sport Victoria Beachside Division Athletics Carnival, which will be held at Lakeside Athletics Stadium on Friday, 7th September.
