Scholastic Book Fair
Thank you to the Parent Help Group who managed the Scholastic Book Fair last week. The support from the community was amazing. It’s great to see the students so enthusiastic about buying and reading books. The school library will benefit by receiving 30% of the total sales ($1500) to purchase new books.

Mobil Bright Futures Grant
Largs Bay School recently received a $4000 grant to support learning in STEM. Some of the grant has been used to purchase drones and also Lego Wedo’s. The drones will be used to introduce students to the potential use of drone technology and to introduce students to coding. The Wedo’s will introduce junior students to robotics and computational thinking. Lunch clubs have been established for students who are interested. We are looking forward to seeing what our students can do!

RSPCA Cupcake Day
Room 31 is raising money for the RSPCA by selling baked goods. All proceeds will go towards fighting animal cruelty.

Enrolments requests for continuing students will submitted in October for our Violin Programme. (parents of existing students will be asked to make a commitment to continue for the full 2019 year.)
Existing students may be interested in attending a free workshop
on Saturday (25/8/18) see attached).
Beginner enrolment requests will be sought later in the year for year 3 and 4 students.
Instrumental Music through Learning through Music (a private provider working at Largs Bay School on Fridays)
