Mid Year Concert

The Instrumental Music Mid Year Concert was a very successful evening last term. All of the school ensembles performed at a very high standard and the audience thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

The Year 7 Rookie Band did their first performance on their instruments and despite a few nerves, they did a wonderful job playing three different songs.

Both guitar ensembles performed with various students performing solos with the songs.

This year we had a vocal ensemble, but also a small group (quartet) vocal ensemble. They performed a lovely song in 4 part harmony which was very challenging and sounded beautiful.

The percussion ensemble started the concert off with the students walking down the stairs while playing rhythms. It is always fantastic seeing all of the percussion students playing various instruments all together.

The LHS band also played a few new movie themes, with the Funk Band finishing the concert with two lively songs to get the audience pumping.

Music Teachers

Last term, we said farewell to Mr Kent Fisk and Miss Clancye Milne who have gone on Long Service Leave for the whole of Term 3 and also to Mr Malcolm Abbott who is taking for the first four weeks of Term 3 for Long Service Leave.

We have welcomed four new teachers in their place and the students have already commenced lessons.
